Ankh Egyptian Revival vintage sterling silver ring size 7
The Ankh was used as the Egyptian symbol for life. It has been popular in pop culture since the early 1920's when King Tut's tomb was discovered and again gained popularity in the 1950's and 1960's as Hollywood had taken these findings to make big movies. We see this symbol used in all sorts of jewelry. What makes this piece an authentic revival is the use of the Hallmarking on the reverse of the Ankh. It is stamped Sterling which was typical before the 1970's when the marks were changed to 925 in the USA (the 925 stamp was originally used just after the turn of the century but was not mandated until the 1970's) Ring is in great vintage condition with small signs of normal wear to the band.
